The Leica M Edition 60 Digital Camera was introduced in 2014. This camera does not have an LCD screen and is based on the Leica M (Typ 240), but it has a denser feel due to its solid, milled stainless steel construction302.
In collaboration with Audi, it features a unique textured, embossed gray leather cladding and all-stainless steel control elements. One of its most distinctive characteristics is the absence of a rear LCD. In place of additional controls, only the essentials remain: a power switch with single advance, a top shutter speed dial, a function button on the top deck for checking remaining battery and SD card capacity, and a stylish ISO dial on the rear302.
The camera lacks strap lugs, so a leather and stainless steel camera protector with a carrying strap is included instead. The frame lines are LED illuminated, but only in red, and the camera is limited to shooting in uncompressed DNG format302.
The bottom plate is clean, with no externally visible catch. It comes with a stainless steel 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE lens. Only 600 units were produced, making it a limited edition. The price is 18500 USD302.
Stainless steel was used for the visible metal parts of the camera and lens. The back of the top plate was engraved with "Leica 60" and "Leica Camera Wetzlar"357.
