Leica M10-R

The camera closely resembled the original Leica M10³²⁵. It lacked the engravings found on the Leica M10-P and featured a standard red dot instead of a screw³²⁵. The only significant change was the sensor; however, the motherboard, buffer, processor, and menus were identical to those of the Leica M10-P³²⁵.

Leica had already maximized the buffer size for the processor, meaning there was no larger buffer available³²⁵. Additionally, the larger file sizes resulted in slightly slower processing, which effectively made the buffer smaller³²⁵. The shutter was the quieter version found in the Leica M10-P, which had been popular among many users³²⁵. Leica adjusted the base ISO for Auto ISO to 200³²⁵. This change helped prevent accidental "blown" highlights while still permitting the use of ISO 100 when appropriate³²⁵.

Leica M10-R was produced between 2020 and 2022³⁵⁷.

Special Editions

Special edition of this camera, Leica M10-R "Black Paint" was introduced in 2021³⁵⁷. This camera had a black high-gloss finish³⁵⁷. The top plate of the camera featured the classic Leica script and an "Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Germany" engraving³⁵⁷. The ISO and shutter speed dials were cross-knurled and the shutter release button was silver chrome-plated³⁵⁷. The camera had no red Leica dot³⁵⁷. Examples included:
