Leica M9-P



  • Introduced in June of 2011318 and produced until 2012357
  • The camera features a sapphire glass LCD, classic Leica script on the top plate, and a screw instead of the traditional red dot318.
  • The M9-P presented a notably robust and discreet variation of the M9. Unlike other models, it did not have the model specification or the red dot on the front side; instead, the well-known scripted name was engraved on the top. The display on the back panel is protected by sapphire glass. Additionally, the special leatherette covering was later applied to the standard black version of the M9 as well357.

M9-P  20 Years Leica Store Vienna ( First Edition) 357 2011 this special edition set, consisting of a silver chrome-plated camera with black vulcanite leather and a silver ano-dised Noctilux-M 50 f/0.95 ASPH., was released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Leica Store in Vienna. An edition number was also engraved on the accessory shoe. 
M9-P  20 Years Leica Store Vienna ( Second Edition) 357 2011 this second special edition set, consisting of a silver chrome-plated camera with black vulcanite leather and a silver anodised Noctilux-M 50 f/0.95, was released to celebrtae the 20th anniversary of the Leica Store in Vienna. An edition number was also engraved on the accessory shoe. 
M9-P  5 Years Ginza Store 357 2011 this special edition was produced to mark the fifth anniversary of the Leica Store Ginza Tokyo. It consisted of an M9-P in hammertone finish with black vulcanite leather and an Elmarit-M 28 f/2.8 ASPH. The camera had a special numbering on the hot shoe
M9-P  Leica Futako Tamagawa Store 357 2011 this special series was released for the 2nd anniversary of the opening of the Leica Futako Tamagawa Store in Tokyo. The silver chrome-plated camera had a red leather coating. It was delivered as a set with a red grip, carrying strap and an Elmarit-M 28 f/2.8 ASPH. 
M9-P  Korea 357 2012 this special edition was commissioned by Leica Camera Korea. The silver chrome-plated camera had a special engraving on the top plate and was supplied with a silver anodised Elmarit-M 28 f/2.8 ASPH. and an à la carte carrying strap
M9-P  Edition Hermès 357 2012 this special edition was created in collaboration with the Parisian brand Hermès. The silver-coloured camera was designed by car designer Walter De Silva, who reinterpreted several control elements. The Veau Swift calfskin in the colour ochre was provided exclusively by Hermès for the leather covering. Special numbering was also engraved on the flash shoe. The camera was presented as a set with a silver anodised Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH. 
M9-P  Edition Hermès - Jean-Louis Dumas 357 2012 this special edition was released in honour of the former president of Hermès, Jean-Louis Dumas, who died in 2010. The camera corresponded to the Edition Hermes. In addition to the first Leica camera bag produced by Hermès, the set also included three silver anodised lenses: a Summicron-M 28 f/2 ASPH., a Noctilux-M 50 f/0.95 ASPH. and an APO Summicron-M 90 f/2 ASPH. 
M9-P  Leica Daimaru Store 357 2012 this special series was produced on behalf of Leica Camera Japan on the occasion of the opening of the first Leica Daimaru Store in Tokyo. The set consisted of a silver chrome-plated camera with white engraving on the top plate, a white calfskin leather cover and a matching Noctilux-M 50 f/0.95 ASPH. The set included a white carrying strap made of white calfskin and a Nappa leather case for the lens. 
M9-P  Montreux Jazz Festival 357 2012 this special series was produced on the occasion of the opening of the Montreux Store. The silver chrome-plated camera had a leather cover à la carte with a leather carrying strap in a matching colour. The top plate was specially engraved in black with the Montreux Jazz Festival logo. The camera was accompanied by a Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH. in silver with a round metal lens hood. 
M9-P  Rahn Foto 357 2012 this special edition Leica M9-P was commissioned by Rahn AG Foto & Fine Art in Frankfurt on the Main. It consisted of a grey-painted camera and a matching Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH. The set also included a wide bag in dark brown and a leather carrying strap. Each camera and lens was engraved with a special number.
M9-P  Meisterstück (Masterpiece) 357 2012 this special series was produced to mark the 10th anniversary of Meister Camera. The camera was matt black chrome-plated and had a steel grey leather cover. Apart from the most impor tant values (in white), all engravings were in grey. The Leica logo on the top plate was also round. The set was delivered with a black chrome Elmarit-M 28 f/2.8 ASPH. with a round metal lens hood.
